All Time Low in Manila

It's been a week and two days since I've met the boys of All Time Low. I think it's time to blog about it and it's also the perfect excuse to start my personal blog ;)

The atrium is all set for All Time Low!

The boys arrived September 21st, Wednesday and had a signing at SM North The Block. I was forced to cut my 1 PM class cos my friend's boyfriend failed to buy me a CD that morning. I was scared that I wouldn't be able to meet them so I decided to cut - I did the right thing though. Totally worth missing a quiz. I was the 359th person who bought a CD that day and the Astroplus people told me that they would only sign 250 CDs so I tweeted the band like a mad man so they'd agree to sign more than 250 CDs. And they did! :)

While I was in line and near the stage, I kept shouting at Matt Flyzik to look at me but he wouldn't... at first. I kept shouting his name, switching from 'Matt!' to 'Flyzik!' to 'MATT FLYZIK!!' for about 5 minutes until he finally acknowledged me by looking and then he went back to being his snobbish self. But because I love Flyzik to death and a look wouldn't be substantial enough in my books, I shouted 'Cmon Matt! Just one smile! ONE SMILE I SWEAR!!' Then he turned and gave me an awkward smile! I swear to God I died of kilig right there and then but it was almost my turn to give Rian my CD so I had to keep it together.

Here's a blurry photo of Matt Flyzik's awkward smile

When it was finally my turn, the bouncers called me up and I immediately gave Rian my CD and thanked the boys for coming. I looked back at Rian and he was asking for a high-five so I gave him one! Alex was next and I asked him if he could take his beanie off but he said "Oh, no, sorry I can't" and then gave me a smile that I didn't even bother getting upset. When I faced Jack, he stood up from his chair and raised both is arms in the air and screamed a little. The guy was obviously ecstatic. I thanked him, asked for a high five and he gave me one without hesitation. The last one on the table is obviously Zack who, being the quiet person he is, just signed my CD and smiled. That wouldn't do so I asked for a high-five and he gave me one too! PROPS FOR HIGH FIVES! ;) I screamed my way out and I didn't even give a fuck when all those people looked at me as I screamed my heart out.

My SIGNED Dirty Work Tour Edition ;)

Fast forward to September 22nd, Thursday evening.

Araneta before it became crowded with Hustlers

We arrived at Araneta at around 7PM, bought food, and went to find our seats because I didn't want to miss anything. And I didn't because at around 7:30PM, Evan Kirkendall headed out for FOH and was chased down by girls (I was one of them of course). I ran out and met him at the side of FOH and hugged him like my life depended on it. I GOT TO FUCKING HUG EVAN KIRKENDALL. Like my arms were around his torso. As in a fucking hug. It was so funny watching him run around Araneta because all these girls were chasing after him and he didn't have security. After less than 30 minutes, I saw Jeff Maker in FOH but I didn't bother to go ask him for a hug because I was scared that I would make a scene. I can't remember what time the concert started but I remember it ended at 10:45PM.

I cannot put into words how awesome the show was. Imagine, it's been a little more than a week but I'm still wallowing in post-concert depression. It was beyond epic. It was unreal. The boys were amazing live, and definitely did not disappoint. The crowd's energy was on an entirely different level and the intensity the crowd had was amazing! We sang like tomorrow wouldn't come and we sounded good. REALLY GOOD. "You guys sound absolutely fucking incredible." "You guys are fucking insane. I don't think we've played for a louder crowd." The moment when Alex sang Remembering Sunday - that definitely tops my list of Best Moments in My Life. If I had the power to stop time right there and then, I would.

And since Manila was so awesome, the band and crew tweeted some very sweet words!

I especially love Evan's reaction to his Manila experience. He even blogged about it! They were already in Australia when Pedring hit the metro but the crew kept sending their love via Twitter to the Philippines and to the Filipino Hustlers. They're all so sweet and I can't help but get teary eyed when they say something nice about the Philippines. They GMH, seriously. ;)

They promised they would be back soon and I'm holding on to that until they do.

  1. FLYZIK IS SUCH A BITCH I SWEAR TO GOD. He was PMS-ing during their whole stay here!!!! I really do believe that That Girl is dedicated to him. HAHAHA.

Anyway, ATL's the best concert I've attended so far! We were moshing everywhere! But you know what's weird?! Di ako nag-p-PCD. As in! I just miss them... but no PCD at all.

AND YES, FLYZIK IS STILL A BITCH. HAHAHAHA!

Random fact... Jack went to Taco Bell without money in hand. Tapos buti nasabihan ng bouncers yung producer sooooo yung producer pa yung nagbayad ng Taco Bell niya and ng lahat ng niyaya ni Jack. :))
