The Fault in Our Stars is a book written by John Green (one of my favorite authors) which is set to be released January 10, 2012.
Here's the book description:
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.
Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.
It is still a mystery to me how I got my hands on a signed copy this early when everyone else had pre-ordered and I didn't. I basically just bought it off the rack! A friend of mine (who pre-ordered hers) told me that Barns and Nobles accidentally shipped out pre-order copies early. Although, I still wonder why National Bookstore already has copies when Fully Booked doesn't. I love National Bookstore to death but my loyalty when it comes to novels still reside with Fully Booked.
I went to National Bookstore this afternoon to buy a new watercolor set when I saw 3 copies of the book in the New Releases table. I just had to get one immediately. I was having an internal conflict on which of the three books to get and decided on the last one. Turns out, the book I bought has a Hanklerfish! What's a Hanklerfish? Well, dear reader, a Hanklerfish is a Angler fish drawn by Hank Green, John's brother! According to one of ther video blogs, 7,400 copies (which accounts to 5% of the total number of copies published) of The Fault in Our Stars have a Hanklerfish! Damn I'm lucky to be part of those 7,400 people who have a Hanklerfish in their signed copy of the book!
I guess that's it for now. I shall make a review of the book once I finish reading it! Which is soon, I hope!

How'd you get this so early?
ReplyDeleteAhhh! You’re so lucky!
ReplyDeleteI get mine tomorrow and I am soo excited! Especially since I can kind of relate to Hazel's situation. I just never found love until AFTER my diagnoses was clear and I enrolled in school. I can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteI am the 95% :/
ReplyDeleteI also got a hanklerfish. I don't actually watch John & Hank's videos anymore so if not for the penguin teen tumblr I might not have known what the fish actually is, but I'm so excited/surprised that my copy (pre-ordered) had one. !!
